Dear Parents and Students Our Belt Tests are always held on Saturday mornings. The Testing day is always a very special day and I wish to take this opportunity to explain the purpose and goals of our testing procedure.
Through the first couple of promotion tests, we hope to encourage our students and let them know that we consider them special enough to advance to a higher rank. We evaluate their actions to see how they are acquiring the basic information and techniques and adapting to our school’s system, as well as adjusting to the Tae Kwon Do spirit of discipline, respect and perseverance.
Of course, each student possesses his or her own abilities, and even though all students receive the same instructions, differences will be seen. This is natural. I do wish to remind you that this is just the first step of your progress. All of our goals will not be realized immediately, rather as we near the end of your program the improvement will be obvious. But, even as you advance through the testing system, your self-esteem and confidence will grow. This is the ultimate goal of Tae Kwon Do.
Traditionally, a test fee accompanies the promotion procedure to cover the myriad of expenses of belts, breaking materials, and most importantly, association fees.
Finally, we wish to invite all family members to come to the test and see your progress. We want Tae Kwon do and its health, respect and confidence to contribute to the harmony of your family and become and endeavor in which the entire family can participate and benefit.
