Belt/Level Testing

Dear Parents and Students,

Our belt promotion tests are held six times a year, every eight weeks. Testing day is a very special occasion, and we would like to take this opportunity to explain the purpose and goals of our testing procedure.

Through the initial promotion tests, we aim to encourage our students and make them feel valued as they progress to higher ranks. We assess their ability to acquire fundamental techniques, adapt to our school system, and embrace the Tae Kwon Do spirit of discipline, respect, and perseverance.

Of course, every student has unique abilities, and even though they receive the same instruction, differences in progress are natural. However, this is just the first step in their journey. As time goes on, their improvement will become more evident. Through the testing process, students will build self-confidence and self-esteem, which is the ultimate goal of Tae Kwon Do.

Testing Procedure

  • No separate registration is required for students to participate in the test.

  • Students who meet attendance and skill requirements will receive an invitation via email.

  • To qualify for testing, students must meet the attendance criteria: 16 classes for beginner/intermediate levels and 32 classes for advanced levels.

  • For Black Belt level testing, the required attendance is 16 classes for 1st Dan, 32 classes for 2nd Dan, and 48 classes for 3rd Dan.

  • Additionally, students must demonstrate proficiency in the required techniques.

  • Please check the schedule for the test day, and note that regular classes will not be held on these days.

Traditionally, a testing fee is required to cover expenses such as belts, breaking materials, and association fees.
